QuikClot is a sterile traumatic wound treatment
to arrest high volume blood loss and achieve hemostasis
in moderate-to-severe wounds.
QuikClot is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration
as a medical device under 510K for external use.
In use by the United States Military for in-field
treatment of battlefield traumatic wounds, QuikClot
is now available.
To save lives, rescuers must be equipped to stabilise
the casualties involved by stopping severe blood
loss and the onset of shock - QuikClot can be
swiftly applied to, and consequently stabilise
casualties in treatment triage.
QuikClot is a sterile, vacuum packed wound dressing
with extended shelf-life that once used can be
disposed of safely, with no risk of disease transmission.
QuikClot has the power to effectively stop blood
loss at the injury. The clot is established
almost immediately, which is then able to withstand
high pressure and any intravenous administration.
QuikClot is biologically and chemically inert
- harmless to leave applied to the wound until
the casualty is evacuated to a medical facility.
QuikClot is a truly remarkable medical breakthrough
that will profoundly ease the work of the first
responder, stabilise casualties quickly and efficiently
improve trauma survivability rates.
