The Guartel DMV3 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Deming Vest has been developed in accordance with United Nations Standard Operating Procedures for humanitarian demining and has been tailored to meet the needs of deminers. 

Unlike military flak-vests the protection is focused on front, neck shoulders and groin. This reduces unnecessary weight and improves user comfort and compliance.

Protection

This vest offers a protection level of V50 17g steel fragment offered to most V50 @ 450m/s.  It is tested in accordance with STANAG 2920 and offers a high level of protection to the sides, front, and armpit area with an up-right deflection collar which ensures that the collar cannot detach in the event of a blast. 
It also offers a large apron that covers the legs around the groin area to just above the knee.

Fitting

The vest fastens round the waist with Velcro and also at the sides.
The Velcro strips are sufficiently long enough to make this jacket 'one size fits all'.

Manufacture

The fragmentation inserts are manufactured from water repellent treated aramid, sewn into black water resistant polyurethane coated nylon, and are removable to enable the cover to be laundered, repaired or replaced. The vest has been specifically designed for use by the UN during demining operations. We are also able to incorporate special modifications to the vest to suit specific client needs.
